He told me that, far from being a military-style trainer, he’ll dish up a healthy dose of disappointment if you don’t at least attempt something that he believes you can do. And he REALLY believes in you, so that covers all bases. Including 5 lots of ‘PMac hill’ runs.
When I actually arrived at the bottom of Primrose Hill, I realised what an ask it was to run up and down it 5 times. This is how PMac kicks off every session with his clients – celebrity or otherwise – and he takes no excuses.
The reason I was excited to meet PMac was that I’d seen him across the Instagram pages of some of our favourite celebs – he took Rochelle Humes from her first mile to running 26.2, whilst totally transforming the bodies of the likes of Marvin Humes and Reggie Yates (seriously, you should SEE those before and after pictures).
Whilst – unfortunately – PMac assured me there was no substitute for hard work, nor any shortcuts to a ‘celeb body’, he did insist that we’re all human, with the same hang ups, and that he believes anyone can tap into the motivation needed to look and feel their best.
I loved that this shoot got me out in Primrose Hill on a beautiful blue-sky morning. I loved hearing what this guy had to say about pushing yourself. And I LOVED having the perfect excuse to whip out the Rocky-style music for the edit!
